While you are here visiting the beautiful place we call home, we have made a list of places that we recommend you visit!

Food

- Auntie Ruth's

Fresh pretzels & pastries that are always delicious!

- Blackbird Bakery

A little bit of a farther drive (Bristol, VA), but tons of pastries, pies, and sweet treats to choose from! 24/6, closed on Sunday.

- Project Barbeque

A small barbeque restaurant with the best barbeque around! Great food, great sides, and very close to the venue.

- Wheeler's Bagels

Fresh bagels with homemade cream cheese that is the perfect thing to grab in the morning!

- The Label

Great downtown atmosphere with one of the largest beer and whiskey selections in the area.

- The Olive Downtown

Italian food with a laid back atmosphere and amazing pizza.

- Zaap Lai

Thai & Lao cuisine that has become one of our go to's.

- Freibergs

Authentic German cuisine with two locations: downtown and near the middle of town.

- Pal's

A local fast food chain with hamburgers and hot dogs.  The quickest drive through you will ever go through.

- Caribbean Grill

A small food truck that doesn't look like much, but packs a punch.  Quick and affordable food and drink options.

Outdoor Experiences

- Buffalo Mountain

This is where Devon proposed to Elya! Has a great view over the town, and can be made into a short hike if you start in the right place.

(feel free to ask one of us about this if you are interested!)

- Roan Mountain

Located right on the state line of Tennesse and North Carolina, this hike takes you up to a bald where you can see for miles!

- Blue Hole Falls

A nearby half mile hike with a waterfall and a swimming hole that is worth seeing!

- Watauga Point Recreational Area

One of the most beautiful lakes in the area.  A very peaceful place to go relax if you need to get away from the madness!

- ETSU Campus

This is where Elya went to college, and has some of the best mountain views in the area.

- Founders Park

A nice park near downtown to walk around and see various art installations.

- Willow Springs Park

A beautiful public park with a dog park and a large walking trail.

- Winged Deer Park

A park with many trails through the woods and distant mountain views.

- Rotary Park

A park with many great playgrounds and a beautiful setting.

- Downtown Jonesborough

A small Main Street with antique stores, a candy shop, and even a distillery!

- Sills Branch Falls

Located around 45 minutes away, this 1 mile hike brings you to a large waterfall that is a hidden gem!

- Asheville, NC

If time allows, we recommend driving I-26 into Asheville.  It is a truly stunning drive, and there are many things to do in

Asheville including touring the Biltmore house.

Attractions

- Paradise Acres

A fun place to visit that has two mini golf courses.

- Bristol Caverns

An underground cave system with a river running through it and some of the coolest rock formations you will see anywhere.

This requires a scheduled tour and will have to be reserved before you arrive.

- Brights Zoo

A zoo with giraffe feeding and many interesting animals.

- Briarwood Ranch Safari Park

One of the best times we have had in a while.  Safari animals eat the food from your hand or from the food bucket.

This made our car a disaster, so we recommend taking the shuttle.
