Outdoor Experiences
- Buffalo Mountain
This is where Devon proposed to Elya! Has a great view over the town, and can be made into a short hike if you start in the right place.
(feel free to ask one of us about this if you are interested!)
- Roan Mountain
Located right on the state line of Tennesse and North Carolina, this hike takes you up to a bald where you can see for miles!
- Blue Hole Falls
A nearby half mile hike with a waterfall and a swimming hole that is worth seeing!
- Watauga Point Recreational Area
One of the most beautiful lakes in the area. A very peaceful place to go relax if you need to get away from the madness!
- ETSU Campus
This is where Elya went to college, and has some of the best mountain views in the area.
- Founders Park
A nice park near downtown to walk around and see various art installations.
- Willow Springs Park
A beautiful public park with a dog park and a large walking trail.

A park with many trails through the woods and distant mountain views.

A small Main Street with antique stores, a candy shop, and even a distillery!

Located around 45 minutes away, this 1 mile hike brings you to a large waterfall that is a hidden gem!
- Asheville, NC
If time allows, we recommend driving I-26 into Asheville. It is a truly stunning drive, and there are many things to do in
Asheville including touring the Biltmore house.
Attractions
- Paradise Acres
A fun place to visit that has two mini golf courses.
- Bristol Caverns
An underground cave system with a river running through it and some of the coolest rock formations you will see anywhere.
This requires a scheduled tour and will have to be reserved before you arrive.
- Brights Zoo
A zoo with giraffe feeding and many interesting animals.
- Briarwood Ranch Safari Park
One of the best times we have had in a while. Safari animals eat the food from your hand or from the food bucket.
This made our car a disaster, so we recommend taking the shuttle.
